A Fantastic Morning Out Headlining At Teignmouth Parkrun

Saturday 28th July saw us headline at Teignmouth Parkrun.

With about 400 runners in attendance and being geographically central to our work, Teignmouth Parkrun was the perfect audience and location for spreading awareness about our charity and of Alex’s 50@50 half marathon challenge.

We provided a number of volunteers who undertook a variety of roles, such as marshalling on the course, barcode scanning and photography. (There were alot of orange tshirts visible!)

It was a great atmosphere on the course and as seems to be the way with all parkruns, the runners were really thankful of our presence and our volunteers thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Prior to the run, Hannah Moon, our Head of Trust was given the opportunity to talk about the work we do, and about Alex, who turned up in the nick of time, having run 10 miles so as to complete his 30th half marathon that morning.

Already as a result of our attendance, Alex’s JustGiving page has had some new donations (thank you so much!) we have hopefully enlisted a new volunteer mentor and also have the first taker for our 30 entries for 2026’s Great West Run.

It was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning and we’re looking forward to doing another headliner later in the year. See you then!
