Background
Oliver was in sixth form, however was struggling with the stress and pressure. Social anxiety was a barrier for him, especially in groups of people. An over thinker, who worried a lot about his girlfriend and their future.

Oliver was looking for support to look at next steps and future goals. He also wanted support with his anxiety and how to manage it..

Mentoring
With the main goal being around confidence in public places and independence skills, Oliver and Nadine started their sessions in the same Costa. Throughout their time together, they took small steps to start to push Oliver out of his comfort zone. They started to visit some different local cafes. and Oliver started to feel confident enough to order their drinks. Nadine also supported with Oliver going into a shop and using the till independently. They spent a lot of time discussing coping techniques when Oliver was struggling with being "mentally tired".

They spent time using reflective practice to help Oliver navigate cement friendship and relationship difficulties. They also spent some time playing tennis and getting active.

“"I feel much better about myself since my mentoring experience with Life Chance Trust. It has helped me see a new outlook on life and how it can change for the better. My sessions were the highlight of the week!"
