The UK is being warned about a "Lost Generation". We don't have to accept that.

This week, national headlines have focused on a growing concern.

According to Alan Milburn's review for the Department for Work and Pensions, almost 1 million young people aged 16-24 are now not in education, employment or training (NEET). Read the report here.

·         That's around 1 in every 8 young people.

·         The highest level in over a decade.

·         The estimated cost to the UK economy?  £125 billion every year.

But behind every statistic is a young person whose future is becoming harder to reach. At Life Chance Trust, we see this reality every day.

We work with young people aged 16-25 who have experienced traumatic childhoods, instability and significant adversity.

·         Young people with talent.

·         Young people with ambition.

·         Young people who simply need someone to help them build confidence, resilience and opportunity.

That's why we're looking for 50 local businesses willing to invest £50 per month to help vulnerable young people access mentoring, life skills, employability support and brighter futures.

Because no young person should be defined by the opportunities they never received.
