ALICE CASE STUDY

A re-referral, wanting to access mentoring for a second time. Looking at next steps after Sixth Form.

Background
Alice re-referred herself to Life Chance Trust a year after completing her first mentoring programme. As she approached the end of Sixth Form, she began to feel anxious about her next steps and the support available to her. Alice was originally referred by her Sixth Form due to anxiety following a traumatic incident that resulted in a long-term injury, which had significantly affected her confidence.

Mentoring
Alice quickly built a positive relationship with her mentor, and together they identified goals to work towards. She needed support with applying for PIP and a Blue Badge, so her mentor helped her make a referral to What's Your Problem for additional advice. To build her confidence, Alice began attending Life Chance Trust activities, including a First Aid course to strengthen her CV. As Sixth Form came to an end, she was also keen to find employment.

Where are they now?
Alice has now started a new role as a Residential Support Worker, which she is excited about. With support from What's Your Problem, she was able to put the right support in place to meet her ongoing needs. She continues to attend Life Chance Trust activities regularly and will be taking part in the charity's first residential in September.

"Life Chance Trust regularly check-in on my wellbeing which helps me to feel secure. They have helped me access the right support for what I need.”
